Novelliere mediterraneo (Mediterranean storyteller / حكواتي البحر المتوسط )
is an Italian book focusing on the influence of the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region in Italy, in particular the huge influence Islam has had on its existence.
It's no secret that Italy is a predominantly right winged place with major issues of racism, especially towards black and brown bodies. This book is not only supported by #UNESCO in aiming to bridge gaps between people, but is a contemporary humanistic approach to Italy's' diverse history - highlighting the huge importance of cross cultural influence and how today's racism is so wrongly placed. That migration from the MENA region has always been in existence in Italy (and the region) and that Islam, regardless of how much the right want to rid of it, is ingrained in multiple aspects of it's culture.
The book is researched and curated by Tancredi Artico.

'the short story expresses a high degree of complexity when it touches on the theme of the Other, which it is good to approach to discover values and solutions to be transmitted to the present.'

IL SANGUE DELLE DONNE // THE BLOOD OF WOMEN
A project/concept by Manuela De Leonardis,
Collaborative input with Lôw.
Lôw are: Raiya (Oman), Tara (Saudi Arabia) and I (Iraq)
The blood of women is an 'artistic project created and curated by Manuela De Leonardis, which sees the involvement of sixty-eight international artists who have been entrusted with old "linen cloths", once used to tampon and absorb menstrual flow. These works talk about intimate and personal events, evoking memories resurfacing from oblivion and finding a new place in the present. Anonymous stories, known stories, ordinary stories.' Stories in blood. 'In their own language and with this awareness each artist has addressed different aspects of femininity: birth, puberty, maternity, reproductive choices, menopause, sexuality violence and feminicide, considering that some of them are still taboo both in western and global society.'
